Drawing by Marcus

For my birthday, Marcus drew this lovely picture of me wearing this really cool Eugenia Kim hat. It's done entirely in blue ballpoint pen on yellow paper. (click to see full size.)
So Amazing.

Probably going to be light on updates for a while... school is beyond insane. Hopefully I'll have some good stuff to show soon though.

Blue Medusa T-Shirt= Awesome

This post has been a long time coming, but I am really excited to share this with you now. For Christmas, my one of my favorite girls ever, Heather, made me this awesome t-shirt. It fits my exact style taste= black, oversized, comfortable and AWESOME. I really love the stenciled zero's and the way the font looks kind of like jail numbers. I love all things criminal-esque.

I'd been waiting to post it til Angy was back from her travels and could take the photos-- we were bored during class so she decided to get all crafty and take these in front of the escalator... I definitely accidentally tripped backwards and started going up. Ha Ha.

Anyways, Heather has an awesome website showing off her creations, but it seems to be out of commission right now. I'll get to the bottom of that situation and redirect you all ASAP on where to go to learn more...

**THANK YOU HEATHER!!!**

"I love the 90's"- portfolio knitwear project

May I just begin by saying--- I LOVE SNOW DAYS! Yesterday, due to a nice and frosty mini blizzard, school was canceled!! It was awesome! It gave me a whole day to get Valentine's out which was really fun. Too bad I didn't have time to bake treats to go with them... Anyways, I did brave the conditions for a Brooklyn Bagel and post office run, but after that I was content to sit in front of my window and watch it snow the rest of the day...it was lovely.

After couture sewing tonight, I FINALLY headed to the computer lab to use the scanner... Here is my final art project from last semester- a knitwear collection inspired by classic 90's teen movies and tv shows.

One of my top 5 goals for this semester is to turn my closet into an identical copy of Liv Tyler's from the 90's. HELP ME!
There were a lot of directions with this project- not only did we have to choose a decade as a jumping off point for inspiration, but we also had to choose an artist to inspire our color palette. I don't really like to be pushed in so many inspirational directions, but it did lead me to the work of Andrew Hem (seen in my color story page). If you haven't heard of him, check out some of his work, I really like it.

PS--click for bigger pics! (it is sooo nice using a good scanner!)

Back to School

Yesterday was my first day back to school. This semester I jammed all my classes into 3 days + an online class so that I could intern 2 days a week. This was almost definitely a bad idea. I really like my internship though, so I am going to try to make a go of it. Sorry in advance if I don't answer your calls/ have time to ha
ng out with you until the end of May though...

Spring 2010:
*Active Sport Design (Basically I choose two sports and design collections based on them. I'm leaning towards hip-hop dancing (YES) and hunting...but idk. It's not like I know anything about sports...)
*Apparel Product/ Labor Analysis (I was too distracted by Prof. Chan's blackboard writing style to get what this was all about)
*Business of Licensing (...bleh)
*Designing with Hi-Tech Fabrics (making ski
jackets?)
*Haute Couture Sewing Techniques (not required, but at the end i'll be a master hand-sewer)
*Modern Art (my teacher works at MoMa and wrote this site... online though, so apparently I'll be writing like 4 papers a week. I'm not that smart anymore.)
*Outerwear & Performance Design Portfolio (
Portfolio class for summer/ winter sports. I t
hink this will only be usable if I decide to apply at NorthFace or something... I won't.)
*Swim/Active Sport Portfolio (Portfolio class for swimwear and active sports (???))
*Swimwear Design (Making swimsuits.)

Anyways, here is my original design concept board for my final project from last semester. This doesn't exactly represent what I ended up making since we had to make this board weeks before I actually starting making anything, but it's pretty close. This was a pretty rush job, which is i think why all the girls faces look kind of like Taylor Swift...

Sorry the quality is really poor here. I just took a picture with my camera. I really need to get a scanner.
